What is is water quality like? (ie, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates) and what sort of set up do you have? Try soaking his food in garlic juice to stimulate his appetite. And I'm afraid that you can't leave him in with a female unless you want to divide the tank. Betta's will breed all year when properly conditioned and not too old. I hope that helps you out. (might carry the dragon gene) I have been looking for an HM for a while (avoiding shipping) I will be looking for a new veiltail tonight to my eldest betta (4.5 years old) passed away Yesterday.
