Letters of a Betta Addict

I seem to be having some issues with this new theme so this is a test to see if I can get it to work.

I’m officially moved into the new place and am buried under under a Bazillion boxes. I managed to dig my way free long enough to type up this update for you all. The fishy babies are all doing fine and don’t seem any the worse the wear for the rather rocky move that happened yesterday. Hopefully by the end of the day I’ll have everything here cleared up well enough for me to to a bit of tinkering about where all the tanks and furniture will be. Also I’ll post a better account of how the move went then to.

On the Betta front I have an update. All 5 of my babies have made it safely into Canada and I’ve sent the payment to Hung for the Transhipping and Shipping costs. I can’t wait to have all those little guys here with me soon! Also Ashely is back from her Holiday and contacted me to let me know that the Rose Tail pair is ready to go and that there may be a “surprise” in there as well since she says she has another female that she can send to. They’ll be shipped out Tomorrow as well so hopefully they’ll all arrive safe and sound on Tuesday. I’ll be posting the final cost tally here soon and will give you an update on how everyone has settled in.

However I must return to the sea of boxes, so until next time take care.

A Betta Addict

Ok so you know that last post I made? The reasonable, sensible one? Yeah well let’s pretend that didn’t happen :p

I would like to make two announcements. The first is that contrary to the last post I am now the proud winner of not one but Two auctions. Both of them were for males but I’m hoping to hear back from the seller yet on whether he has females available for them. If he does then it will hopefully be either Pairs or Trio’s (possibly) that are coming across the ocean to me.
The first Auction I won was for an absolutely gorgeous Extended Red HM male. I’ll post the auction picture later after I hear back from the seller. This male is just stunning and if he has a sibling female to match this could to a really interesting line.
The second auction I put in a bid because the main expense (shipping within Canada) doesn’t change whether I have 1 betta or 6. MM pointed him out to me and while he wouldn’t have been my first choice I’m looking forward to working with him. He’s a blue marble male with great form. His body looks a little bit “compact” for my tastes but he’s probably younger then the Red Male in the first auction I’ll have him for two months before I spawn so there’s time for him to grow out yet. Again after I hear back from the seller there shall be pictures posted.

Well not much to report here on the fishy end of things. However I’m curious what people think of the comic section? I’ll hopefully have a new addition to it either tonight or tomorrow. Is there any interest in me continuing to post them? I know I’ve only posted one up to now but comments about them, good or bad, would be appreciated. :p

If the address you have set as your pay-pal receipt isn’t the same as the one you want something shipped to make sure that you name note of that on the receipt. Luckily I’d sent the seller my address earlier so she knew something was up. However this may mean that my babies will be delayed getting here since I didn’t check my e-mail again after last night… I’ve responded now but don’t know if they’ll make it out today… :s

A lesson learned I guess…
